MBA Project Type: Supply Chain / Logistic
Project ID: 1501
Description: The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a network of interconnected physical devices or objects embedded with sensors, software and other technologies that enable them to collect and exchange data over the Internet. These smart devices can communicate with each other and with central systems, which enables remote monitoring, control and automation of various processes. IoT devices such as RFID tags, GPS trackers and sensors are used to track the real-time location and condition of assets, including vehicles, containers, and packages. IoT provides full visibility into the supply chain, allowing stakeholders to track the movement and status of goods at every stage. IoT in logistics improves efficiency, lowers costs and improves overall supply chain management by providing real-time data and insight into the entire process. Research Objective To explore the opportunities and challenges of using IoT in supply chains using secondary data and interviews with retail managers.
