The study was undertaken to know the Knowledge the investors have towards the risk of the equity. The survey was conducted by asking queries from various investors. Many have not aware of portfolio management which would minimize their risk, so proper steps should be taken to improve the importance of portfolio management in the minds of the equity investors. The expectations of the investors are quite high. Many expect high rate of return for further investment through equities. The experience of investors and their portfolio management being moderate. The investment avenues of individual investors depend mainly on annual income as well as number of dependants. Investors prefer the advice of others also. Regularity in investing, percentage of savings also has a major impact. The study on investors importance towards equities gives an idea of the investors choice based on returns etc, particularly relating to city.
