Description: Modern organizations are actively trying to involve employees in continuous improvement. To involve employees in productivity and process efficiency improvement activities, a team-based environment must be developed in which they can participate actively in improving their process, product, or service performance. One such employee participation program is Quality Control Circles (QCCs). Quality Circle (QC) is one of the employee participation methods which implies the development of skills, capabilities, confidence & creativity of the people through cumulative process of education, training, work experience & participation. This study was made with the aim of evaluating the level of performance of the employees, as a result of creation and functioning of quality circles in various industrial units in the private sector. The study also aimed to examine the relevance of quality circles in the TQM concept, the difference in the quality of work done and quality of process in the identified units and to ascertain the factors that influence the creation and functioning of quality circles.
